What is Districting?

In 2018, the City of San Marcos initiated the council districting process. This process portioned the City into four equally populated areas or districts. The purpose being each district would directly elect a council member who represents that district's specific concerns while working with the rest of the council and the mayor on issues that impact the city as a whole.

Districts One and Two elected their council members in 2018. This year, Districts Three and Four are electing their direct representatives. Below is an Adobe PDF document that shows the four San Marcos districts. The PDF is easy to navigate and can be saved to your device for easy reference. There is also a link directly to the city's website where they host the same map.
